Controversy over Kamal Haasan presence at this Event !

It's known that our legendary actor-director Padmashree Kamal Haasan inaugurated the sixth edition of the Bangalore International Film Festival at the Jnana Jyothi Auditorium, Central College Campus, on December 26th. In a sort of controversial manner not even a single Tamil film has been selected for screening at the Bengaluru Film Festival. When enquired about this, we came to know that a jury was appointed to select the movies for screening and every movie that has made it to this event were based on only their assent.

Interestingly, the fact that it was our Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan who inaugurated the BIFF has created a controversy as some opine the legend shouldn’t have been part of the event that voluntarily boycotted Tamil cinema.

Actress Tamannah who made the transition to Kollywood to Bollywood is back to where it all began for her alongside Thala Ajith. The actress gave an in depth interview to the Times Of India on her New Year Memories, films are much more. Here are some excerpts from the interview.

What do you usually do on New Year's day?

I ensure I don't celebrate New Year in the same place every year. I always spend the special day with my family but in different locations. I don't repeat the celebrations as well. Last time, I had a small party at home and this year, I'm sure not to repeat it. I want my every New Year celebration to be unique and memorable.

What do you wish for yourself in 2014?

I wish a healthy year for me. Health is everything in life according to me. If you are unwell you cannot enjoy anything in life.

Have you ever made a New Year resolution?

I find them hard to keep, so I don't make resolutions at all. I think they are practically difficult to maintain. I have tried making one during my school days, but it didn't work.

Tell us one New Year resolution that you would never like to make...

Getting up to the first ring of an alarm clock in the morning, without going for the snooze button. (laughs)

Will we get to see you in a lot of Tamil films this year?

Definitely. The Kollywood audience will get to see me in a bunch of films this year. I am discussing a lot of scripts in Tamil, and I might sign a few this year. I have already signed the bilingual, Mahaabali, directed by Rajamouli. And, my first release of the year is going to be Veeram.

How excited are you about Veeram?

Veeram is a very big film in my career as I am cast opposite Ajith in the film. It was a great opportunity for me to share screen space with a person who has a terrific screen presence. I felt grounded after working with Ajith. I am looking forward for this mega release for Pongal. This film will set the tone of my career in Tamil films this year. I feel I have an amazing year ahead.

• The Jilla team has applied for censor which takes place today (December 31st). 
• The Trailer of the movie is expected to be out on New Year.

Grapevine is flooding with reports that actress Meera Jasmine is all set to tie the nuptial knot on Feb 12, 2014. Sources add the actress will be marrying Anil John Titus, a Dubai based software professional who hails from Thiruvananthapuram 

Reports have it that Meera's parents have been hunting a suitable alliance for her for quite sometime now and Anil's marriage proposal came through internet via a matrimonial portal and both families have decided to go ahead into a relation. The families went to each other's house and finalised the marriage to happen on the proposed date.

Meera Jasmine was away from the industry for quite sometime now following her live in relationship with Madalin player Rajesh which the actress has personally acknowledged. But, earlier this time, reports came that both of them have separated.
